National Doughnut Day - Doughnut

National doughnut day is celebrated in United States Of America on June 1st.  National Doughnut Day was created by The Salvation Army in Chicago City. On this day many Doughnut stores are offering free Doughnut to the customer. Celebration of the day was started in 1938 by the fund raised by the salvation army to and for army which were in World War I. Key role was played by the Salvation Army in World War in giving volunteering and providing food to army personals. Chicago become hub of the campaign and Hub of Doughnut at that time.

During World War II, Red Cross started distributing Doughnut to army personals.
